Recent Increase in the NC Workers’ Compensation Fee Schedule

NCMGM members are encouraged to monitor their claims for Evaluation and Management services (Codes 99201-99205; 99211-99215) and Physical Medicine services to ensure services rendered as of January 1, 2013 are being paid in accordance with the North Carolina Industrial Commission Fee Schedule in effect as of January 1, 2013.  Certain carriers and self-administrators were e-mailed the attached notice in mid-January.  Details of the notice and increase are also posted on the Industrial Commission’s website at http://www.ic.nc.gov/ under “Latest News” tab and also under the “Medical Providers” tab.

The thirty (30) percent increase in E&M services and the five (5) percent increase in Physical Medicine codes is the first increase in nearly seventeen years.  Efforts continue to address other physician services.
