CMS National Provider Enrollment Conference: September 6 and 7, 2017
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will hold a National Provider Enrollment Conference on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT and Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. EDT. This session will be held at the Charleston Area Convention Center located at 5000 Coliseum Dr., North Charleston, SC 29418. Rendering Physicians Can Now Review Their Individual Medicare Billing Activities!
Palmetto GBA is excited to announce that rendering physicians now have access to eReview functions via the eServices portal to review and analyze their Medicare billing activity. JM Part B rendering physicians who are currently listed in PECOS may register for a rendering physician account in eServices.

Make your eServices Accounts Stronger by Choosing Multi-Factor Authentication
It’s easier than you might think for someone to steal your password. Multi-factor authentication can help keep your eServices account remain secure even if someone manages to obtain your password without your knowledge. Individual users can activate the multi-factor authentication feature as an extra layer of security. Users may log into eServices and access the My Account tab to turn on this optional feature. Once activated, signing into your account will work a little differently. Please share with appropriate staff.

Reopenings Update – Changes to Chapter 34
Change Request (CR) 9639 provides updates to Chapter 34, Section 10 of the ‘Medicare Claims Processing Manual’ to remove outdated contractor terminology, clarify remittance advice code reference and to add hyperlinks for regulation and statutory obligations. The updates enhance and clarify operating instructions and language in accordance with regulation and statute. CR9639 includes no policy changes. Make sure that your billing staffs are aware of these updates.

Timely Reporting of Provider Enrollment Information Changes
The timely reporting of changes in your Medicare enrollment information helps you avoid disruption of your Medicare claims payments. All provider types must report changes in their enrollment information to your MAC via the Internet-based Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership System (PECOS) or the CMS 855 paper enrollment application within 30 days of the change.
