December 14th Lunch & Learn Webinar: Wellbeing, Leadership & the Workforce
December 14, 2021 | 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM EST | Zoom
As we continue to navigate the world of the pandemic, a recent study looked at some of the key challenges that leaders and managers will face in health care in particular. On a positive note, the study found that while employee engagement actually improved in 2020, serious clinician burnout concerns remain. In addition, the challenges with recruitment and staffing continue. As daunting as these challenges are, there is at the same time an opportunity to re-focus and align with the overall objectives of providing health care with an even larger opportunity for leaders and managers to be clearer about how their leadership style impacts organizational effectiveness. What can a manager/leader do to address this? What leadership traits and actions will be particularly important going forward? We will talk about challenges that get in the way, context, and managing across generations and create a shared space for learning from each other of how to apply to practice.

August Lunch & Learn Webinar Second-Order Threats: Preparing for the Downstream Effects & Risks of COVID-19
Thursday, August 26, 2021 | 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM EDT | Zoom Sponsored by Curi
The devastating consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic have no doubt left a lasting impact on the world as COVID-related deaths continue to climb with each day. However, while deaths and hospitalizations continue to be the most notable immediate effect of the pandemic, second-order impacts – i.e., situational health consequences resulting from pandemic-era restrictions – are also plaguing individuals around the world, both worsening many health conditions and creating new ones. Even as medical professionals continue to handle COVID-19 infections, it’s important to also begin preparing to mitigate the downstream effects of the global crisis while taking the necessary steps to ensure the continued success of their practices.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the NCMS, the North Carolina Medical Group Management Association and Curi have been sending surveys regularly to our members to track the impact the pandemic is having on your practice. Thank you to everyone who consistently responds to this survey! Your participation allows us – and you – to get a snapshot of where medical practices in North Carolina are financially, with PPE supplies, telehealth and staffing among other issues. This valuable data helps inform our advocacy and resource development on your behalf.
The most recent survey examined trends in medical practice protocols in response to the pandemic, comparing how office procedures have evolved over time. View the survey data comparison at the button link below.
