Appalachian State University Creates the Kevin Bilson Leadership Scholarship Fund

In honor of the memory of Kevin Bilson, the health care management faculty at Appalachian State University has created the Kevin Bilson Leadership Scholarship Fund. The scholarship is for students interested in a career in health care management.

Serving for over a decade, Kevin was a founding member of ASU’s Health Care Management Program’s Advisory Board. He was a mentor to numerous students through his active participation on the Board, precepting interns, and hosting student club site visits. His two sons, Max and Mason, were also students in the program.

NCMGMA Mourns the Loss of a Great Member and Past President Kevin Bilson

Mr. Kevin A. Bilson, 66, of Huntersville passed away at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 11:55 a.m.

Mr. Bilson received his Master’s Degree from the University of Alabama, Birmingham. He was a retired administrator for Kernodle Clinic in Burlington, Elon and Mebane, NC. While living in Burlington, he was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. As a resident of Huntersville, he attended Assurance United Methodist Church.

A native of Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of John H. Bilson and Eileen Ahearn Bilson, both deceased. Survivors include his fiancé, Christina Young of the home; two sons, Mason Bilson of Burlington and Max Bilson of Boone; sister, Nancy A. Bilson Graeber and (Dennis) of Delran, NJ; nephew, Sean Bilson of Tinley Park Il; and the mother of his children, Charla Bilson of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his brother, John T. Bilson.

Kevin Bilson was a longtime supporter and member of NCMGMA, serving on the board and in many volunteer rolls including President (1992-1993), and most recently serving on the Student Outreach Committee prior to his retirement. Kevin will be greatly missed and we are all thinking of his close friends and family during this extremely sad time.

The funeral service will be conducted at St. Mark’s Worship Center on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. by Rev. Ben Bishop with the family receiving friends from 11:00 until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at 5:00 p.m. at Moravian Falls Cemetery, 238 Cemetery Road, Moravian Falls, NC 28654.
