NCMGMA Code of Ethics Policy

Adopted August 2020

The Board of Directors of the North Carolina Medical Group Management Association (NCMGMA) recently adopted a new code of ethics for the organization.

The new code of ethics is as follows:

1. Members shall direct their activities to the mission, goals, and objectives of North Carolina MGMA, which are to elevate through education, networking, and advocacy; the competence, standards, and knowledge of all members.
2. Members shall not misuse information disseminated in North Carolina MGMA publications, meetings, workshops, seminars, or other North Carolina MGMA functions. Misuse of information includes representing North Carolina MGMA information to other persons as having been authored or originated from any person or organization other than North Carolina MGMA.
3. Members who also sell products or services shall not utilize information obtained at North Carolina MGMA functions such as meetings, workshops or seminars for their personal financial gain, including the solicitation of such products or services at any time during North Carolina MGMA functions except when acting in the capacity of exhibitor or in the normal course of membership.
4. Members shall not disparage the work or conduct of other members but shall report unprofessional and or unethical conduct to the North Carolina MGMA Board of Directors.
5. Members shall uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity, conduct themselves in a manner that respects the rights, welfare, free will, autonomy and dignity of others, and do no harm to the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of others.

All Members shall adhere to the standards set forth in the North Carolina MGMA Code of Ethics or risk revocation of membership as determined by the Board of Directors. A printable copy of the code of ethics can be accessed here (PDF).
