MGMA sent a letter to members of Congress expressing support for the Creating Opportunities Now for Necessary and Effective Care Technologies (CONNECT) for Health Act. The CONNECT for Health Act would expand coverage for telehealth services and remote patient monitoring (RPM) by lifting several of Medicare’s restrictive coverage requirements for these services. Additionally, this legislation would benefit physician group practices by allowing them to utilize telehealth services and RPM to succeed in meeting the requirements of the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS), lifting the telehealth restrictions for two-sided risk Accountable Care Organizations, and permitting the use telehealth services and RPM for certain patients with chronic conditions. Visit the MGMA Advocacy Center to contact your lawmakers and ask them to support this important legislation.
