Wake Internal Medicine Consultants Receives Annual NCMGMA Practice of the Year Award

Wake Internal Medicine Consultants was named the 2015 Practice of the Year at the North Carolina Medical Group Management Association’s (NCMGMA) Leadership Summit, held September 16-18 at the Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, NC. The Practice of the Year Award recognizes a medical group practice that makes significant contributions to its community, patients and staff through volunteer work, fundraisers, staff wellness programs, community clean ups, and community screenings and education.

“Wake Internal Medicine Consultants genuinely characterizes all that this award stands for. Their commitment to their community and patients, which includes an outstanding Chronic Care Management initiative which serves to aid their sickest and neediest patients. Additionally, this practice’s desire to educate the community via their blog and outreach initiatives stood out in their submission. We are inspired by Wake Internal Medicine Consultants are pleased to present the Practice of the Year Award to this outstanding practice” says Laura Sanborn, NCMGMA’s 2011-12 President and current Governance Committee Chair.

The Practice of the Year Award, sponsored by First Citizens Bank, provides a $3,000 check to a charity chosen by the award recipient. This year’s funds will be given to the Fill Your Bucket List Foundation which grants the wishes of adults battling cancer in order to make lifelong dreams come true.

Approximately 250 attendees and exhibitors were in attendance at the NCMGMA’s Leadership Summit. Attendees were able to update their headshots, meet with a career coach and attend leadership educational sessions which included presentations by Mary Kelly, PhD, CDR, US Navy (Ret), of Productive Leaders, Rob Kramer of Kramer Leadership and Blanca Cobb of TruthBlazer.
